My artwork lives in a space between the scientific replication of nature and the artistic beauty of the natural environment.

This is where I thrive.

My work is inspired by what I observe during daily walks; the myriad of wildlife that inhabits the marshes and woodlands of Deephaven await just outside my kitchen window.  My binoculars, camera, and sketchbook are always nearby to record new visitors, seasonal migrants, and old friends alike.  Back in the studio, these fleeting moments are transferred to vellum and paper where I can focus on more detailed brushwork and let emotion be my guide.  My true love has always been drawing and I’m grateful to have found mediums

and techniques that allow me to live the life I paint and vice versa.
