Description:
Composition is often overlooked but is an important factor in creating a successful work of art. With a little forethought and planning you can add the “wow” factor to your work. In this presentation we’ll look at a few key principles of composition that are easy to remember and can be applied to your botanical art.
Bio:
​Betsy Rogers-Knox earned a Certificate in Botanical Illustration from The NYBG and is enchanted by the full lifecycle of plants and their habitats. Her work has been included in the 13th-26th ASBA International Exhibitions and the 3rd -5th NYBG Triennial Exhibitions. Betsy received a Gold Medal at the 2024 RHS Exhibition and the RHS Botanical Art Judges Special Award for the educational and ecological value of her paintings of Beckley Bog in 2019. Her work is held in the permanent collection at the RHS Lindley Library in London and at the Hunt Institute in Pittsburgh, Pa. Betsy teaches at the NYBG, Mass Hort and offers hybrid classes on Zoom and in her studio in Bethlehem, Ct.
