KAREN RATHKE

Several years ago I retired from a financial job in a corporate role.  I don’t have formal art school training, but have always participated in community education.  I’m a perpetual student, and learn something new from each instructor and every class.  My preferred mediums are watercolor or colored pencil. Subjects I love are animals, birds, flowers and plants.  Photography has been a serious hobby of mine since I was a teenager.  My camera is my primary tool to record the beauty of nature and reference for my art.
